LAN/WAN Engineer

Summary

Design, upgrade, install and troubleshoot networks.  Maintain all workstations and servers, as well as providing desktop support to workstations. Provide LAN support for local and remote users.  Responsible for various WAN onsite connectivity projects.

Responsibilities

Provide monitoring and management of WAN and LAN data networks. Responsible for design, development, implementation and analysis of WAN and LAn.  Performs engineer design evaluations  Resolve highly complex technical issues, conducts advanced research, and identifies product/service innovation.  Perform preventive maintenance on computer and network equipment,including peripheral components.Maintain inventory on all computer and network hardware, software, repair parts and computer and network supplies.  Inspect computer and network equipment and read order sheet listing user requirements to prepare computers and network components for delivery.  Install or assist other personal in installing of hardware and peripheral component such as monitors, keyboards, printers and disk drives on off university premises.  Assist and trains students, faculty, and administrator use of hardware and software.

Education and or Experience3 plus years experience with NT, W2000, LAN, WAN CITRIX and/orDiploma in Computer or System service or Repair and orDegree in Computer Science or related field and orSuccessful completion of courses in computer support and service subjects.Good interpersonal communication skills.
