Position Description
The Lab Engineer 2 will have a skill set that includes the ability to administer complex networks and domains. The Lab Engineer 2 will have a good knowledge of Windows Networking principles as well as specific server technology skills. In addition, the individual will have the capacity to assist in leading and directing teams of individuals in setting up, configuring and administering the networks and domains.
The Lab Engineer 2 will have the capacity to work independently, with a minimum of direct supervision. They will be able to take vague requirements and create and execute work assignments. Skills will also include the ability to create activity summaries and other reporting mechanisms.
In the customer environment, the Lab Engineer will understand the basics of testing, including the ability to setup and execute both manual and automated tests, when necessary.
Required Skills/Background
• Strong knowledge of personal computers, applications software and/or operating systems
• Specific knowledge of Microsoft networking technologies
• Experience setting up and configuring computer hardware
• Some testing experience, batch file or other scripting knowledge
• Ability to create status updates, reports and/or other documentation associated with assigned projects(s)
• Requires good communications skills, including customer-facing
• Experience with Networking and troubleshooting
• Ability to backup databases and create Disaster recovery plans
Duties:
• Setting up hardware
• Configuring machines and installing OS
• Installing SQL server, Web Server (IIS), BedRock, CF, PHX domain, VSTS
• Executing WTT test cases and troubleshoot failures
• Setting up and maintaining WTT infrastructure
Education/Certification Required
Associate’s degree or equivalent work/experience/training
