AVAI’s rapid business growth is allowing us to continue to add to our team of talented and motivated professionals.  Our goal is to continue to raise the bar for the level of services and solutions we deliver to our clients.  With this in mind, we are seeking a qualified team player to fill the position of Lead Field Technician in our Phoenix, AZ office.  This person must be comfortable and self sufficient in a fast-paced, small-company atmosphere.

 

A Lead Field Technician MUST possess strong leadership and technical skills across a vast variety of fields from Audio/Video to Security Systems with the ability and mindset to constantly learn and understand new technical applications and installations. The Lead Field Technician is responsible for assuring that all cabling has been tested, repaired if needed prior to device installation, and verifying device operations after installation. A Lead Field Technician must have the ability and the skill to troubleshoot complex A/V, security and phone systems.  They must be able to understand written blueprints/drawings for device connections, and effectively communicate with Project Manager and/or Project Supervisor, Engineering and/or Field Engineer for any changes that may occur from original design to as-built installation.

 

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

1.  Installation, integration, troubleshooting, and testing of complex technology systems

2.  Ability to work unsupervised and direct others

3.  Terminate, test and label all types of cable

4.  Product knowledge and device installation

5.  Pre-installation testing of wiring and equipment

6.  Execute wiring and hardware test plans

7.  Building and maintaining in-house test equipment

8.  Build from and mark-up engineering documents

9.  Work reliably and respect the project-site

 

KNOWLEDGE AND REQUIREMENTS:

1.  2+ years relevant experience

2.  Strong communication skills and professional appearance

3.  Must be able to work well with a project team consisting of Engineers, Project Managers and other Field Technicians

4.  Must have a strong understanding of  installation, troubleshooting, and testing of:

a. Audio/Video systems

b.  Control systems (AMX/Crestron)

c. Jandy Pool control system

d.  Panasonic phone systems

e. Security & CCTV systems

f. Access control systems

g. Ethernet networking

5.  Must be able to assume the role of Lead Field Technician

 

EDUCATION:

-  High School Diploma

 

DESIRED SKILLS:

-  CEDIA Certification (EST or Installer Level 1 or 2)

-  Manufacturer Certifications

-  Programming skills (Security, Phone, Access Control, Remote Controls, etc.)
