Lead Information Analyst
Location: Chicago, ILEducation Required: Not IndicatedExperience Required: At least 4 yearsPosition Description:BASIC FUNCTION:This position is responsible for the accuracy, completeness and overall quality of all metadata gathered as part of the eleven separate projects currently planned as part of the CCSP program roadmap. The position will also act as a metadata subject matter expert to the different CCSP project teams and project data analysts.Experience serving as the Gatekeeper for all CCSP Metadata. Analyze new metadata entries and compares to existing entries looking for duplication, incomplete business definitions, data type, attribute name disagreements, and other possible metadata issues. Ensure that all data lineage (everything that has ‘happened’ to the data, such as transformation, aggregation and formatting) from Source to Target and vice versa is accurate for all metadata entries. Manages list of potential erroneous metadata entries.Coordinates with Metadata reviewers (Data Modelers, DBA’s, Business Analysts, Data Architects, Data Analysts) to identify Metadata discrepancies. Manages feedback from metadata reviewers as feedback used in preparation for the metadata review meetings. Plans and facilitates metadata review meetings to resolve identified discrepancies with Business and/or technical staff involved in defining the metadata entry. Follows up with those who committed to make corrections to the metadata to ensure task completion.JOB REQUIREMENTS:1) Three years of work experience with a Bachelor Degree OR Four years of work experience with a Technical Certificate or college courses OR Five years of work experience. 2) 2 years working with metadata management for large projects (more than 1000 data entities)3) Minimum 5 years working in a formal project management environment using a software development methodology 4) Familiarity with relational data modeling, logical and physical database design 5) Experience with main-frame DB2, VSAM files 6) Strong familiarity with data Extraction, Transformation and Load (ETL) tools 7) Excellent communication skills and the ability to influence, negotiate and lead individuals over which you have no formal authority 8)Demonstrated knowledge of WINDOWS,MS Office applications, Including MS Visio and MS Access.PREFERRED JOB REQUIREMENTS:1) Database application development and support experience, requirements gathering and documentation experience as a Business analyst, Any relational database experience, Metadata tools: ASG – Rochade & Becubic, CA – Allfusion Repository Distributed 2) Mainframe: USS, CICS, (batch and interactive), VSAM files 3) Distributed environments: AIX, Unix, Support tools: SPUFI, CLIST, REXX, Clearquest, UNIX shell scripting. WebSphere, Endevor, Rational ClearCase, CVS, Zeek, Zeena, Omegamon. Languages: COBOL, Java, SQL PL, SQL DDL, SQL DML, JCL 4) Formal methodologies and process metrics: SDLC, RUP, CMMI.
