Position Description This Test Lead position will report to the Quality Manager to help define, coordinate and implement the testing strategy for the validation of third party developed customer interaction strategy. To be effective, the candidate will require a strong quality assurance and testing background, excellent communication skills (interpersonal, listening, written and oral), the ability to influence without direct authority, be self motivated and have demonstrated success working in a lead capacity. This position will closely partner with the Release Coordinator Lead to coordinate builds in the non-production environments. Responsibilities / Deliverables Under the direction of the quality manager: Oversee and coordinate the efforts of test leads assigned to project including: System integration and acceptance planning Data set staging to support system integration testing Ensuring adherence to standard testing procedures and methods such as defect management, testing lifecycle, test case development, test execution and reporting. Defect triage and reporting Ensuring adherence to standard tools including defect tracking and test case management Integration of testing schedules to support packaged builds and testing activities (e.g. system integration testing) Test execution of system, system integration and performance testing Testing related activities in support of the Change Advisory Board (CAB) Partner with Systems Analysts to validate use cases and requirements specifications Establish criteria for automated testing where appropriate. Deliverables include: Integration testing strategy Integrated project testing schedule and plan. Reports on project quality metrics (e.g. defect measures) Testing status reporting Review and validation of test artifacts Required Qualifications / Skills Required mastery of all QA Analyst levels of responsibility. Requires strong oral, written and listening communication skills. Must have knowledge of industry standard Software Development Life Cycles. Knowledge of the types of QA Tools and processes used to manage test case development, defect management, change control, and requirements analysis. Experience with Mainframe applications Experience in the Java environment. Experience with Oracle database applications Experience with web application applications. Has knowledge of network, and computer architecture basics. Ability to effectively respond to multiple conflicting priorities. Ability to prioritize work and efficiently respond to unexpected changes. Works collaboratively and effectively within a multi-track team of peers. Must demonstrate an ability to work effectively within cross-functional teams in collaborative environments. Establishes and maintains open communication to cross-functional partners and within engineering. B.S. Computer Science or equivalent degree. At least 4 years of software quality assurance experience. Desired Qualifications / Skills Experience leading testing teams on complex testing efforts Extensive testing process / lifecycle experience – functional, integration – and alignment with solution development lifecycles Experience with of third party web integrations. Background with batch processes Understanding of release management and packaged releases Excellent communication skills (interpersonal, listening, written and oral) Ability to discern appropriate regression tests for automation Strong analytical, problem solving, and technical skills. Working knowledge of HP/Mercury Interactive QualityCenter.
