View all Sungard Availability Services jobs Lead Storage Consultant / PC4572 Position Description:Alternate Locations: Wayne, PA; Rosemont, IL or Huntington Beach, CAProject Delivery:• Assist clients with determining storage architectural solutions for SAN, NAS, CAS and Archiving. • Perform consulting analysis for Storage Architecture, Storage Capacity Planning, ILM and Archiving • Develop a client’s storage or archiving strategy and design based on sound business and technical requirements• Evaluating and Recommending Technical/Infrastructure solutions,• Provide project deliverables that are compliant with delivery methodology• Maintain all working artifacts and deliverables in specified project repository • Perform work consistent with guidelines and operating procedures, minimize rework• Perform all consulting with the highest degree of professional conduct• Communicate status, issues and recommendations on a timely and effective basis• Submit time recording and expenses for activities consistent with policies• Maintain project end dates and forecast project tasks in ChangePoint Practice Development:• Contribute to knowledge base of service materials (Methodology, Models, Training Materials, etc)• Maintain professional certifications • Maintain a personal development plan to exhibit positive growth in agreed upon areas• Recognize add-on business opportunities and inform the Engagement Manager• Contribute to best practices, methodologies, tools, and industry capabilities for specific service offerings• Develop and deliver internal training in area of expertise• Provide input during marketing/product development lifecycleDeployability & Utilization:• Target personal utilization on client engagements of 75 percent• Maintain actual realization rate on projects at 100% of baseline rate (deliver work effort in budgeted amount of time)• Comply with practice procedures and directives while assuring that team members assigned to your projects do likewise• Maintain accurate personal forecasts on a timely basis and actively communicate potential availabilityProfessional Development:• Mentor other consultants in any area of subject matter expertise• Provide input to performance evaluations for project team consultants• Contribute to knowledge transfer/knowledge management processes• Develop, maintain and accomplish individual training planQuality Management/Customer Satisfaction Responsibilities:• Maintain 4.0 or greater score for customer satisfaction• Comply with delivery, quality control, and quality assurance methodologies • Provide routine and effective internal and client communication per established standards• Contribute to expert knowledge base in information availability architecture and design• Deliver/meet client expectations; receive zero client complaints • Participate in any post project reviews for purpose of continuously improving service offering. Qualifications: • College Degree preferred but will consider applicants with equivalent work-related experience with a minimum educational requirement of a H.S. Diploma or GED equivalent• 8 -10 years of professional experience, with at least 8 years emphasizing storage architecture and infrastructure skills• Minimum 2 years direct consulting experienceTechnical Skills:• 8 years continuous IT experience supporting Operations, Infrastructure, and Architecture functions • 5 years SANNASCAS Management and Storage Architecture, preferably EMC, Hitachi, IBM, and SUN • Knowledge of archiving solutions such as Legato, Veritas and Tivoli.• Knowledge of virtualization software from vendors such as Powerrecon, VMware, Microsoft Virtual Server, Citrix Metaframe and Linux• Knowledge of High-availability and virtualization technologies • Knowledge of Remote Management technologies • Storage certification such as EMC proven, Hitachi Data Systems Certified Professional and Symantec Data Protection/High Availability Certification. • Strong understanding of advanced computer system and/or information availability issues• Advanced knowledge of generally accepted accounting practices with excellent spreadsheet (MS Excel) and other Microsoft software skills • Experience in information technology tactical planning, information availability procedures development and administration, availability architecture design and technology assessmentOther Skills:• Proven ability to handle multiple tasks working with multiple personnel simultaneously• Advanced skills in developing cost / benefit models and applying ROI analysis to technology investment alternatives• Advanced written, verbal communication and presentation skills. • Exceptional organizational and communications capabilities (i.e., must be able to listen and understand, then communicate orally and in writing)• Exceptional analytical skills (i.e., must be able to analyze unique customer environment and suggest appropriate information availability solutions and resources)• Intermediate project management, planning, organizational skills, and advanced communication ability to scope prospective engagements• Experience in delivering presentations to senior executives • Ability and experience speaking with customers in support of sales of consulting services• Proven pursuit of continuous self-development and staff-developmentSUNGARD IS AN EQUAL OPPORTUNITY EMPLOYER, M/F/D/V
