Level 2 Desktop Support Technician
Chameleon Integrated Services multiple openings in the Washington, DC downtown area. These positions will encompass Helpdesk Level 2 support of Windows/ Mac environments.
Tier 2 Technical Support Services. The contractor will provide Tier 2 technical support to include, but is not limited to, desktops, servers, printers, facsimile machines, scanner, plotters, COTS and software support, etc.
Tier 2 will physically respond to the user site to resolve the problem. If defective hardware or software is determined to be the cause of the problem, then the technician will institute the process of adding, changing, or removing resources in order to resolve the problem. In most cases the dispatched engineer will be able to resolve the problem, however, when the problem is determined to be more complex or does not respond to initial remedial actions, the request will be escalated to a more experienced engineer. When the technicians resolve the reported problem, they will update the ticket status; have the client sign-off and close the ticket.
The contractor will maintain Tier 2 technical support staff with expertise that includes a thorough knowledge, skills and ability in problem resolution in Microsoft desktop, Mac desktop, printers, fax machines, scanner, plotter and etc. Make recommendations to the government on specification for hardware and software for SCA. Handle special projects such as, deploying systems, moving users, creating procedures, documentation, gathering statistical information on customer problems and solutions, best practices, etc. Interface with other levels of support, such as network administrators and other information technology specialists.
Qualification for this position requires that the candidate pass a background investigation.
