Level 2 Network Security Engineer

Reports To: Security Engineer Manager

Responsibilities:

The Network Security Engineer, Level 2 is responsible for initial firewall configurations, making configuration changes to firewalls, basic firewall troubleshooting, turning up new clients and following up with clients on existing issues. The Security Engineer, Level 2 is also responsible for escalating support tickets that cannot be resolved within the SLA or skill level to Level 3 Engineers and ensure all tickets are updated and assigned prior to leaving. This individual will need to be available and logged in to receive phone calls at all times.

Qualifications:

· Bachelors Degree or Tech School Certificate

· Security+ and/or Network+ and Vendor Cert Required

· Minimum 2 years experience using at least one of the following: CheckPoint, Cisco Pix, Fortinet, Netscreen/Juniper, or SonicWall

Desired:

· Thorough understanding of basic networking Principles

· Knowledge of firewalls with prior working experience

· Understanding of common network Vulnerabilities, and Attacks
