Laclede Gas Company has an opening for a Systems Administrator position with an emphasis in Linux Advanced Server administration in our Information Systems Department.  This position will be responsible for the design, installation, configuration, and maintenance of the organization’s Linux servers; and working with multiple hardware and software platforms at the intermediate level such as Windows 2000/2003 Server.  Additional responsibilities include managing disaster recovery functions for the company’s servers; organizing off-site storage necessary for recovery processes, and overseeing development of recovery procedures. 

 

The position requires a Bachelor’s degree in the Computer Science, Business Information Systems, or related discipline and 7 years work experience in Linux and Windows 2000/2003 server administration, PC support, and network operating systems.  Knowledge of Oracle databases preferred.  Flexibility in work schedule is a requirement.  Must be able to provide technical documentation and participate in cross-training activities.  The ideal candidate should have strong interpersonal and communication skills, be detail-oriented, and self motivated.
