Possess a detailed understanding of and experience with the field's practices and legal requirements. Responsible for reviewing structural engineering assumptions incorporated in the client's program. Support technical assessments and decision-making related to the projects. Support development of practices, processes, mechanisms, and documentation for all systems engineering and integration activities, both internally and externally. Comply with management boards and processes, including activities such as requirements management, configuration management, risk and opportunity management, integrated master schedule maintenance, integration and test, and technical baseline management. Support development of advanced planning documentation for future architectures, such as acquisition strategies, capability description documents and architectural views. Support concept for user development interaction, ensuring integration of projects and activities both internally and externally. Experience in developing ground architecture alternatives to meet future operational requirements and concepts. In-depth, detailed working knowledge and expertise with acquiring systems using concept refinement, technology development, system development, demonstration, production, deployment, and operations and sustainment. Ability to develop and maintain systems engineering and technical requirements documentation and provide traceability between appropriate documents. Ability to develop and track Request for Change (RFC) packages through boards and processes. Strong initiative to take on new tasks and run them in compliance with directives, regulations, and philosophies with minimal client direction.Essential Job Functions Performs structural analyses utilizing internal loads produced from finite element models. Analyzes and sizes metal and composite components utilizing in-house methods, allowables and computerized analytical tools to identify and ensure structural integrity of materials. Performs static and fatigue analysis of subcomponents. Prepares comprehensive documentation/report of analysis and margins of safety; makes recommendations as appropriate. Provides structural engineering designs to include layout, detail, assembly and installation drawings as appropriate for components and/or subcomponents. Creates models and assemblies for advanced conceptual layouts and determines load path development. Performs qualification and testing of prototype(s). Supports the production/manufacturing of structure's). Investigates and resolves production and field issues. Provides leadership and work guidance to less experienced personnel. Bachelor's Degree in Structural Engineering or a closely related discipline; or may be substituted by a minimum of6 years of relevant equivalent experience with structural engineering. Must have a minimum of 5 years experience working for an IC or DoD Government organization while performing structural engineering duties. FBI background experience with structural engineering is a plus. At a minimum, must have a Top Secret clearance.Basic Qualifications Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience Bachelor's degree in civil, structural, mechanical, aerospace, ocean, marine engineering or naval architecture or related field preferred Professional Engineer (PE) license/certification preferred Six or more years of structural or mechanical engineering experience Experience working with structural engineering theory, practices and procedures Experience working with applicable design standards and procedures (e.g.; AISC/AISI structural steel design procedures and/or ABS rules) Experience working with structure related design and assemblies utilizing metallic/composite materials Experience working with machining operations, joint design, ply stacking sequencing, corrosion/galvanic compatibility and basic composite manufacturing processes Other Qualifications Good analytical and problem solving skills Good communication skills Good computer assisted design/computer assisted engineering software skills Ability to apply technical theories, troubleshooting techniques and concepts to structure Ability to independently determine and develop approaches to solutions with only general direction Ability to work independently and as part of a team Ability to support multiple engineering projects with independent schedule commitments Ability to work with outside suppliers Remote Work Location Authorized:No Relocation Assistance:Not AvailableClearance Level:Top Secret Create Success
