(Web services concepts & 108 Integration Broker experience a plus.)Summary* This position reports to the Manager, Enterprise Operations Command Center. * This position is responsible for maintaining superior 7x24 operations of the Websphere MQ and Message Brokers middleware systems environments supporting various data centers and their high availability. * This position is responsible for run monitoring of processes, system triage and recovery, providing advanced technical consultation on design and engineering solutions, supporting system implementations and integrations, systems analysis and diagnosis, trouble-shooting, performance analysis and resolution as well as technical leadership/mentorship to peers, build, plan team members, and management supporting Kaiser Permanentes member services.Environment:* 108 Integration Brokers and 388 MQ Series Queue Managers.ESSENTIAL ACCOUNTABILITIESThe Senior MQ Systems Programmer is accountable for:* Ability to assist in implementation, maintenance and support of Websphere MQ and Websphere Message Brokers in multiple platforms, including z/OS, AIX, WINTEL, SUN and TANDEM.* Ensures WMQ and WBI environment provides needed functionality, appropriate access and restrictions as required.* Provide 7x24 production support on a rotation basis.* Assist with WMQ/WBI consultants and participate in projects.* Assist in defining technical architecture and support decisions for the WMQ/WBI infrastructure.* Assist in evaluating hardware and software products to determine effectiveness of use with the strategic design of WMQ/WBI.* Assist build team in testing, certifications, pilots, introductions of advance technologies, implementation and delivery of projects according to specifications and timelines.* Requires the ability to work with next level vendor and support teams for escalation of issues.* Assess, diagnose and repair issues identified by current incident reporting tools and notification methods.* Assist in creating and maintaining documentation of systems architectures, designs, run processes and incident report statistics.WORK LOCATION/TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS* Primary location will be in Corona Command Center located in Corona, CA.* Occasional travel to Pasadena. Other areas are possible.KEY INTERNAL RELATIONSHIPS* The Senior Systems Programmer reports to the Manager, Enterprise Operations Command Center.* The Senior Systems Programmer must work closely with all Enterprise Engineering & Enterprise Operations technical teams and management.EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/LICENSE/CERTIFICATION - minimum requirements* 3 - 6 years of middleware systems administration.* Websphere MQ Series, Websphere Message Brokers and MSMQ experience. * Ability to function independently with minimal oversight and direction.* Ability to instruct, guide and mentor lower level technical professionals.* Excellent verbal & written communication skills.* Strong customer service skills and focus.EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/LICENSE/CERTIFICATION - preferred* Experience in health care industry.* Prior systems support experience for large scale systems. * Integration Broker (IB) experience.* Experience in MVS/zOS Operating Systems, SMPE, RACF, Tandem utilities, AIX and Windows server OS. * Experience in general web-services concepts* B.S or A.S Degree in Computer Science or equivalent work experience.
