Mail Administrator - Lotus Notes/Domino
Analyzes, develops, tests and implements database designs in support of corporate and client area technology requirements. Performs data modeling, logical and physical database design. Includes maintenance of database dictionaries, monitoring of standards and procedures, access methods and time, validation checks, organization and statistical methods. Responsible for data loading, security, performance monitoring and tuning, capacity planning, and backup and recovery. Roles & Responsibilities include specific functions/ tasks/ performance objectivesWill be responsible for the administration and support of hundreds of geographically dispersed Lotus Domino and Exchange Mail servers that are on both the AIX and Windows OS. Will participate in a 24x7x365 on-call rotation. Will perform data recovery and ticket resolution for customer requests.Provides effective production server support including accurate problem identification, ticket documentation and customer/vendor dialogue. Performs all technical program tasks with minimal supervision. Can troubleshoot problems that involve trade-offs between cost containment and or timeliness of service. Articulates the business value and impact of technical and non-technical information and understands when to escalate issues.2. Essential Skills & Experience -- include specifics regarding academic/ professional qualifications (e.g. degree, university, results), # yrs total and # yrs relevant work experience, relevant employers, relevant experience (nature of work/ job functions)Expert level operating system understanding on one or more platforms (Windows/Intel, AIX), Advanced knowledge of Notes and Domino server (version 6 and above), knowledge of Exchange Server 2003/2007, strong knowledge of clustering, replication and mail routing. Domino and/or Sharepoint application development and scripting a plus. Knowledge of other products (Sametime, QuickPlace, OCS, Sequel) a plus.7 or more years of experience across a broad range of Information Technologies; 3 or more years experience in a large messaging environment; 2 or more years experience in a production environment of a major corporation; strong technical characteristics, specifically: excellent communications skills, both verbal and written; positive attitude; ability to take specific direction and define specific tactics and execute against them; flexible and adaptable to changing circumstances; proactive; composed in a crisis; ability to prioritize well; ability to work well with people from various business and technology disciplines; committed to results, high performance; takes initiative - independent thinking, willingness to step outside processes and take reasonable, calculated risks; excellent process management capabilities; outstanding work ethic; general knowledge of Mainframe, Network, Midrange and LAN/Desktop technologies and their interaction in a complex production environment; an excellent capacity for learning new technologies and applying that knowledge to improving the performance and reliability of the infrastructure.B.S. in Computer Science or equivalent work experience.
