David Weinfeld 919-760- 3014   Manager IT  for Business Applications ManufacturingJob 1111Our client is a Word Leader in specialty paper and engineered products with a location in the Eastern USAs the Manager in this role, you will be responsible for coordinating North American strategic manufacturing processes and applications globally and directing all service-related activities to the users of IT supported software. You will develop an IT strategic plan for manufacturing applications along with directing the daily support of user activities, and the maintenance of existing systems. .. Prefer SAP and Six Sigma Experience, plus strong Manufacturing / IT background.  KEY RESPONSIBILITIES  · Serve as the key contact between the corporate IT and the various plant locations, fostering a global approach.· Manage the plant IT Manufacturing Team resources, including the prioritization of assignments.  Communicate and manage issues related to the team, consulting/informing Manager, Enterprise Applications, as appropriate.· Facilitate the daily support of user activity and maintenance of existing machine scheduling and manufacturing execution systems (COEMIS and MIPS).· Support SAP’s Production Planning and Plant Maintenance modules.· Coordinate and prioritize strategic IT manufacturing projects within North America.· Collaborate with business managers and end users to define business requirements of proposed enhancements to existing software or acquisition / development of new software, estimate costs and propose timing to improve business processes.· Lead the coordination of activities across major plant business process teams (e.g. Sales & Marketing to Manufacturing), where applicable.· Translate business continuous improvement projects into IT initiatives.· Coordinate and prioritize the maintenance backlog within the Manufacturing and Scheduling functional areas based on business needs, and following established change management practices and procedures. SKILLS / EXPERIENCE Comprehensive background in IT concepts, terminology, relational database functionality (such as Informix), and large systems integration (including SAP and other client/server based systems). Knowledgeable of SAP – PP and/or PM. Knowledge and experience with continuous improvements concepts and tools such as Lean, Six Sigma, etc. Experience with structured production programming languages in a production environment. Experience with process control systems, such as PI. Ability to develop detailed functional requirements (i.e. Project Charters) and high-level technical requirements (e.g. data base design requirements). Strong interpersonal / customer service skills, with the ability to work collaboratively at all levels within a manufacturing organization.  Knowledge of process industry manufacturing systems (such as paper, chemicals) and processes a major plus. Minimum requirement of process industry manufacturing in Make to Order (MTO), Make to Stock (MTS) and Assemble to Order (ATO). Some knowledge of manufacturing costing and particularly financial reporting for product profitability. Demonstrated team leadership and project management skills.EDUCATION Bachelor's Degree  and a minimum of seven years of information technology experience in various technical and analytical positions with increasing responsibility.  Experience in the paper or other process- oriented industries is preferred.
