Manager,Network Services and Database Administration

Job Responsibilities to include:

Managing a technical staff responsible for corporate local and wide area networks, applications and network servers, open systems servers, mainframe, and relational databases.

Evaluating proposed technology for acceptable security, performance and monitoring, compatibility with the existing infrastructure and future strategy, systems auditing and develop recommendations.

Developing detailed planning and coordinating installation and configuration of technology to support major capital projects and achieve goals and objectives.

Promoting a Systems Assurance philosophy of high availability, reliability and performance in a secure technical infrastructure, including host servers, wide area network routers and facilities, and local area switched based networks.

Monitoring capacity and recommending change as needed in hardware, software and network facilities.

Maintaining knowledge of trends in technology and providing input to strategic planning for the Company’s technical infrastructure.

Developing and maintaining standard operating policies, procedures and technical documentation.

Appraising performance of technical staff and providing guidance on professional and personal growth to improve effectiveness.

Job Qualifications:

Strong organizational skills, ability to prioritize and multi-task in a fast paced environment.

Must have significant experience supporting a technical infrastructure with at least 5 years in a management role.

Experience in multiple technical areas including Microsoft Windows Server, IBM AIX and Z/OS, Oracle, MS SQL/Server, CA/Datacom and Cisco based networks.

Education and/or Experience:

Minimum 4-year degree, preferably in a technology related field.

Occasional after hours or weekend work will be required. Occasional travel to remote offices will be required.
