Today, CA, formerly known as Computer Associates, serves the majority of the Fortune 1000 companies, as well as government organizations, educational institutions and thousands of other companies in diverse industries worldwide.We are currently looking for a qualified and experienced Manager - Sustaining and Platform Engineering to join our Security Information Management (SIM) team at our office in Framingham, MA.As an experienced Manager in charge of Sustaining and Platform Engineering for SIM, you will manage a group of approximately 50 engineers (45 offshore engineers) to deliver world class sustaining engineering and platform support to our enterprise customers. Sustaining engineering includes resolving issues and providing solutions in an expedient manner for systems that are in production at our customer sites. It also includes triaging and providing enhancement requests on a quarterly cycle. Platform engineering includes porting the SIM components to major Operating System/Web Server/Web Application Server/Hardware platforms. This is a very high visibility position with excellent prospects for a high-energy successful individual. The qualified individual will lead the Sustaining and Platform engineering team to the next level, foster relationships with IT executives at a majority of our customers, develop and refine engineering processes to further fine-tune the operations of the team, improve the diagnostic and supportability of our product, and spear-head technology innovations in a fast-paced environment. The candidate will interface with the mainline development and QA engineering teams, product support, professional services, and product management.Key Requirements:* 10-15 years of total experience including 5+ years of managing a team of 20+ engineers in a sustaining engineering group * Thrives on solving tough problems in a tough situation in short order and is looking to be rewarded with accolades from satisfied and grateful customers * Technologist with experience in some or all of the areas of distributed systems, security, web applications, directory services, databases, multiple operating systems and hardware platforms * Demonstrated expertise at managing a large, at least 2 tiered, team reporting to the position * Experience managing an offshore team is be a big plus * Ambitious and looking to move to Director level role on an accelerated track * Degree in Computer Science would be a plusIt's an exciting time at CA.
