Manager, Systems Administration

Description:Rent.com, an eBay company, is seeking a SAGE level III or IV system and network administrator for our production site operations at our headquarters in Santa Monica, California. This position will require a technical role as well as a management role and will manage one Systems Administrator.The individual will take part in the technical projects as well as have to manage vendor relationships, scheduling of projects, support contracts, and budgetary analysis and estimation. Rent.com is a tight-knit company in a beautiful location with ponds and ducks. The company enjoys the support and opportunities of being part of the very large group of eBay technical departments while maintaining our own local site operations. The technical environment consists of Apache/mod_perl/Dell/Linux on the front-end and Oracle 10g RAC/Sun/Solaris 10 on the back-end. Qualifications:The ideal candidate would have strong experience in Cisco network hardware in a failover/redundant configuration, Linux, Solaris and load balancers (LocalDirector or Netscaler). Excellent communication and strong leadership skills are required.
