Manager of Distributed System for Windows
JOB SUMMARY:
The ideal candidate would be responsible for managing the administration and support activities for the enterprise’s distributed Windows systems that include Microsoft Windows Servers, VMware, Microsoft Exchange, Lotus Notes, Microsoft Sharepoint, Citrix, IIS, plus support hundreds of additional business applications. This environment consists of 700 Windows based servers located across the country.
The leadership of this team is expected beyond just the technical management, but includes employee development, mentoring and training.
MAJOR ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
1. Manages Distributed Systems, Windows Team resources (i.e., people, processes, and technology) within the Distributed Systems Windows domain, including multiple distributed systems that run a variety of operating systems and applications (e.g., Windows, VM, Citrix, Lotus Notes, Sharepoint, IIS and Microsoft Exchange ).
2. Sponsor, Project Manage or Lead several annual enterprise projects each year. 2008 projects include email archiving, SharePoint delivery and VMware.
3. Manage all phases and process of the budget
4. Ensure the delivery of services in line with department metrics and processes.
5. Identifies opportunities for improving operational efficiency and reliability. Including delivering new solutions to enable IT and the business to achieve “Green” sustainability initiatives
6. Manage department lead requirements for this team that include Disaster Recovery, Change Management, and Incident Management.
7. Manage and Mentor Staff which includes 2 review processes a year, training plans, objective design, individual development plans, and 360 analysis.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:

- 7-10 years of work experience.
- Prior management, supervisor, or project management experience.
