We currently have an immediate opening for a Manager of Technical Services.
General Definition: This position provides technical management of the day-to-day operations for Network Operations, Communications and Technical Support of the IT Department of the Chickasaw Nation Division of Commerce. Assist in the creation and implementation of the tactical goals, policies and procedures for the Information Technology department operations team. Assist in determining the organization’s long-term systems needs and hardware acquisitions to accomplish the organization’s business objectives. Responsible to participate in improvement processes used to acquire, operate, and regulate information systems. Responsible for resource management of IT Operations personnel and equipment. The IT Operations Manager works with considerable freedom and latitude under weekends and evenings in addition to normal business hours to meet departmental and organizational goals.
Supervision Received: Position is under the direct supervision of the Director of Application Development. Routine work is performed independently following written procedures, standards and regulations. Performance required with considerable independence and latitude in accomplishing assignments.
Supervision Exercised: Responsible for supervision and management of daily operations of Network Operations, Communications, IT Training and Technical Support personnel.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES:
1. Assists in establishing guidelines and programs for effective information technology management;
2. Plans, organizes, coordinates, and directs the day-to-day operations for areas of responsibility;
3. Recommends short-range management information systems plans and prepares budgetary items;
4. Recommends staff requirements on major systems development and/or research projects;
5. Researches management information systems hardware and software including applicable vendor applications, and operational control packages;
6. Assists in setting policies to ensure the privacy of data and security of information systems resources;
7. Consults with and advises Director of Application Development on information technology management needs and problems;
8. Demonstrates continuous effort to improve operations, decrease turnaround times, streamline work processes and work cooperatively and jointly to provide quality seamless customer service;
9. Ensure the optimal performance of all administrative systems hardware and system’s software with minimal downtime;
10. Design system solutions to improve system availability and productivity;
11. Design and implement proper backup systems and procedures to ensure operational efficiencies;
12. Perform other duties as assigned.
MINIMAL QUALIFICATIONS:
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
· Principles, applications and techniques of electronic data processing systems.
· Computer systems design and operations.
· Computer hardware and software systems planning and technical support functions.
· Organization, management, and control of complex computer equipment and data processing facilities.
· Principles and practices of business and public administration.
· Principles and practices of personnel management and supervision.
· Perform a broad range of supervisory responsibilities over others.
· Establish a plan for and use technical and staff resources.
· Works cooperatively with others.
· Communicate orally in the English language with customers, clients, and the public using a telephone or in a one-to-one or group setting.

· Comprehend and make inferences from written material.
· Must be able to maintain in strict confidence all information received on the job.
· Resourcefulness, originality and self-discipline are required. Must use ingenuity in solving problems and meeting deadlines.
Training and Experience: Must have Bachelors degree in Information Systems Management, Electrical Engineering Technology or related degree and at least five years experience in the field of Information Systems Management or equivalent.
