Managing Consultant - BI and Analytics - Chicago local

We work with our clients to increase the ability of their overall organization to drive improved business results and reduce risk.  The Business Intelligence & Analytics (BI&A) team within TJG  focuses on delivering business intelligence and performance management technology solutions, helping
organizations develop a winning strategy for competing on analytics.  

Right now, we are currently looking to expand out team with Managing Consultants, senior level professionals with solid solution delivery experience paired with proven client and engagement management experience.

Job Description:
Managers provide day to day management of projects, as well as hands-on functional /technical experience to financial and operational clients. Will work with other TJG and client team members through the entire implementation lifecycle, including strategy, planning, configuration, design, build, conversion, training, go live, and post production support. Responsibilities will include:

  * Project management;
  * Identification of business intelligence needs;
  * BI software selection and implementation;
  * Reporting / analytics design;
  * Test script identification/execution;
  * Change management planning and execution;
  * Engagement management, up-selling of products and services to existing clients.

The ideal candidate will have a solid mix of implementation, project management and engagement management skills.  Managing Consultants have a target of 70% billability, with the remainder of their time networking and selling to existing clients.  The ideal candidate has solid written and verbal communication skills; good interpersonal skills and experience facilitating group meetings and interview sessions; strong analytical skills used to translate information from meetings into documentation that can be shared with meeting participants and project teams; a positive and professional attitude; and a desire and willingness to learn new tools, techniques, concepts, and methodologies.


Job Requirements:
  * Experience with end-to-end business intelligence / data warehouse implementations using one or more of the tools below: Cognos; Business Objects; IBM / Ascential; Hyperion; SAP / OutlookSoft
  * Ability to translate business needs into workable technology solutions;
  * Proven client/engagement management experience – ability to recognize new selling opportunities with current clients and close on those opportunities;
  * Excellent communication skills - oral and written - and the interpersonal skills needed quickly to establish relationships of trust and collaboration;
  * The ability to establish credibility in the eyes of senior-level, financially literate senior executives on the basis of expertise, maturity, and professionalism;
  * Excellent time-management and prioritization skills;
  * The ability to manage multiple projects of differing scale and duration.
  * MBA is a plus
  * PMP certification is a plus

While most of our clients are located within the Chicagoland area, this position may require some travel.
