Managing Consultant - Business Intelligence

Project Leadership Associates is looking for a Managing Consultant to join their Business Intelligence Practice Group. This is a contract to hire position. The ideal candidate should possess the following background:

 

* Prefer experience with one of the leading BI/DW tools

* Bring specific technical expertise balanced with ability to interact with business and understand detailed requirements

* Works well with a team and capable of providing direction and delegation

* Understands how to creatively solve business problems and what the impact of various technologies will be on the business and its processes

* Has mastered all phases of full life-cycle development and is comfortable communicating in terms of an accepted methodology

* Proven track record of leading project teams and desire to improve application and data architecture knowledge

* Demonstrate responsibility with project planning & estimating, time management, task prioritization, and project goals, timelines and budgets
 
TECHNICAL CRITERIA:

* Experience with Business Intelligence implementations, especially Cognos 8.

* Knowledge of Relational Database Management Systems, or RDBMS (such as SQL Server, Oracle, DB2, etc.)

* Experience with BI Data Architectures (star, snowflake, plus relational)

* Knowledge of SQL, query tools, and Data Modeling tools (such as ERWin or ER Studio)

* Experience delivering information through a portal

* Knowledge of security protocols and architectures for reporting systems

 

BUSINESS CRITERIA:

 Prior consulting experience a must
* Ability to gather and document requirements

* Familiar with Process Design

* Exposure to Business and IT with ability to “bridge the gap” between both organizations

* Experience with verticals such as insurance, utilities, manufacturing, financial services and legal.
