Messaging Team Systems Administrator

POSITION: Messaging Team Systems Administrator UCC is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Messaging Team Systems Administrator. RESPONSIBILITIES: Responsibilities include working as a team member with System administrator responsibilities for Microsoft Servers. Includes Microsoft Exchange 2003 and 2007. IIS on Windows Enterprise Server 2003 and 2008. Office Communications Server, Marratech Conferencing Server, and other systems assigned to the UNO Messaging Team. Work involves building and configuring servers, troubleshooting, networking of servers, and up to level III end user support. REQUIREMENTS: B.S. Degree in Computer Science or related discipline. In lieu of Computer Science Degree, a degree in science, engineering, mathematics, or physics will be accepted with two years of work experience in the stated field. In lieu of a CS or other Science or Engineering degree, a B.S. or B.A. degree will be considered along with Microsoft MCSE or similar Microsoft certification, plus 4 years work experience in Microsoft Operating Systems and Messaging Applications. Experience with Windows 2000, 2003 or 2008 Enterprise Server, Exchange 2003 or 2007, Internet Information Systems, Marratech Conferencing software or similar product, disaster recovery, networking of servers, including load balancing in a fault tolerant environment. Demonstrates the ability to learn new technology; problem determination and resolution skills; proficiency with personal computers in a networked environment. Excellent oral and written communication skills. System administrators are on call after hours for emergencies. Position requires after hours support to students and instructors using Marratech and other conferencing systems. May require occasional travel. DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Microsoft certifications. Advanced experience with Active Directory, Exchange 2003 or 2007, Internet Information Server in farm configuration. Basic scripting with Visual Basic and PowerShell. Higher education experience.
