MySQL Database Developer

One of our most prestigious clients in Charlotte, NC needs a Database Developer. This is a 6 month contract in the healthcare industry.  DESCRIPTION OF PROJECT: Build a Metadata repository  from scratch (homegrown) to manage corporate data.  Primary users will be developers.  RESPONSIBILITIES: Work in conjunction with Data Architecture Lead to finish the build of a data model, and develop a homegrown Metadata repository Building the front end using Java/J2EE technologies Tracking data components, as well as capturing data, displaying it, and manipulating it Create and develop functional specifications for database design and development Provide technical support to application/reporting development teams in a timely fashion REQUIRED TECHNICAL SKILLS: 5 years or more experience in database development Database development experience using MySQL or other Open Source Databases such as: PostgreSQL, MaxDB, Firebird, Enterprise DB, or Ingres Experience with Java/J2EE front end development Good understanding of relational data models Solid experience with relational database schema design and development in a production environment REQUIRED SOFT SKILLS: Ability to multitask and work effectively, both independently and in teams, ensuring timely completion of assignments and meeting established quality standards Excellent communication skills DESIRED TECHNICAL SKILLS: Hibernate Experience working in a Linux environment Agile methodology If qualified and interested, email your resume to nrc@modisit.com .  I look forward to hearing from you!
