NAS OEM Support Engineer
Department: Access Control
Reports To: Manager, NAS Product Strategy
Location: Denver, CO. or Minneapolis, MN
Summary
Provide training and technical support to Networked Access Solutions OPIN OEM partners. Provide course content and structure for all NAS product training. This work is expected to include direct interaction with NAS OEM partners globally. This work requires strong presentation and communications skills.
Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Provide OPIN API and EDGE/VertX training to NAS OEM customers Maintain all NAS OEM training materials Assist in NAS OEM customer development Provide NAS OEM customer knowledge ongoing maintenance Assist with design and review of all NAS product technical documentation Assist with creation and maintenance of Application Notes Manage and maintain all NAS information content and partner accessibility of secure FTP server (i.e. Sharemethods) for OEM Partner communications and files transfer Works with cross functional team that includes Engineering, Product Management, Operations, and Sales Provide technical support and assist at tradeshow/conferences where NAS products are presented Provides feedback to engineering, production, and product management, regarding product problems, enhancements, and customer requirements for new product features as requested
Education and/or ExperienceBS Degree - Computer Science or Software Engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience 3 to 5 years experience in direct sales, installation or maintenance of access control and security systems Extensive experience with network devices (i.e. Switches, Routers, Hubs, Modems). Network Certifications - (CCNP, CCSP, CCVP) or equivalent certifications strongly preferred. Electronics Technology - Associate of Applied Science or 3 years experience in electronic design and repair. (a plus but not required) Communications - Proven communication skills with 5 years experience in Customer Support or Sales or other direct customer facing position preferred. Extensive knowledge of Access Control and Security industry standards (i.e. UL294, UL1076, DCID 6/9, FIPS201 etc.
Computer SkillsFully conversant with programming (.NET, VB, C, C++, etc.) Fully conversant with networking, (TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, HTTP, SMTP) and Serial protocols (RS485/RS422/RS232) Fully conversant with Linux, all Microsoft Operating Systems and applications (Office, Visual Studio, SQL Server, etc) Have a good understanding of XML

Work RequirementsApproximately 50% travel and fieldwork, including some international travel. Therefore, employee must possess or have the ability to acquire a valid U.S. Passport. Must be legally eligible to work in the United States.
