Job Category:National Security Leader Primary Location:USA-VA: VIRGINIA-ALEXANDRIASchedule:Part-time Job Type:Regular Employee Status:CasualJob Posting: 03/21/2008Description: Essential Job Functions National Security expert will conductscomplex analyses and assessments of the management, research, development, deployment, transportation, safety, security, storage, and training for the stewardship and use of nuclear, chemical, biological and radiological weapons systems. Make recommendations to management as appropriate. Conducts complex system analysis, systems engineering, vulnerability analysis, planning, and program and budget analysis of strategic and nuclear, chemical, biological and radiological weapons systems. Reports findings and makes recommendations to management as appropriate. Coordinates with high-level governmental offices and agencies to ensure that standards and procedures are current and promote national security. Makes recommendations for policy revisions as necessary. Develops complex briefings, reports, and short notice position papers, collaborates with broader security project teams in order to provide national security expertise. Researches environmental factors which affect the dispersion of given agents, the expected effect on population and remedial actions to be recommended to command and staff. Provides support by conducting background research on topics addressing information associated with nuclear, chemical, biological and radiological weapons systems. Researches and grants clearance to highly classified information to users to ensure that a high level of security is upheld. May be required to conduct initial security briefings for all newly cleared employees as well as the annual refresher briefings. Participates in preparing for the annual inspection by the national security agencies. May provide leadership and work guidance to less experienced personnel. Basic Qualifications Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience Bachelors degree in engineering, physics, chemistry, mathematics, or related field preferred Seven or more years of national security experience Experience working with various weapons systems Experience working with U.S. and NATO nuclear weapons infrastructure Experience working with local, state, or national security policies and procedures Other Qualifications Good interpersonal skills to interact with customers and team members Good communication skills to interact with team members and support personnel Strong analytical and problem solving skills for investigating security issues Basic leadership skills Ability to work with relational databases Ability to work in a team environment Remote Work Location Authorized:No Relocation Assistance:Not AvailableClearance Level:None Create Success
