Network Backup Engineer

Experience/Skills Required:

o  BA/B.S. or equivalent work experience with 3+ years backup operations, including media handling

o  Knowledge of distributed backup theory

o  Excellent troubleshooting, reporting and server performance improvement skills

o  Ability to work off hours for scheduled and emergency maintenance and/or upgrades.

Preferred:

o  Installation and support of tape libraries

o  Scripting for automation of backup management

o  Knowledge of PC Server bus theory with emphasis on theoretical and practical bandwidth capacities as relates to peripheral I/O

o  Previous experience utilizing Iron Mountain and with CommVault products, Backup Exec, StorageTek and Dell tape libraries

o  Previous experience with V2i/Live State/Backup Exec Server Recovery

Summary:
Responsible for data protection of all of the Firm’s servers. This includes on-going maintenance of the existing backup solution and continued progress of the environment. This role requires participation in both operations and project-based deliverables.
