Perrigo is the world's largest manufacturer of over-the-counter pharmaceutical and nutritional products for the store brand and contract manufacturing markets and an emerging developer, manufacturer and marketer of prescription generic drugs.DescriptionThe incumbent provides expert level architecture and support for one or more of the core components of Perrigo’s global network infrastructure. As an Engineer, the incumbent will design, implement, validate and support standard/cGMP qualified infrastructure systems based on innovative, industry-standard solutions. Network Engineers isolate and resolve system problems, analyze support patterns to proactively prevent issues, research and develop new support processes, and assist with strategic planning of networking services. The incumbent requires an analytical approach to solving problems and must be able to handle all phases of technology implementation including design, solution development, testing, end-user pilots and rollout. Continuous education is required to maintain competency in a fast changing business and technical environment. The incumbent is a member of the IS Network Engineering Team whose members must work together effectively to continuously improve the reliability and usability of the company’s network.Required SkillsEach Network Engineer will have specific expectations and accountabilities within the IS infrastructure environment. In general, each Engineer must possess strong skills in configuration, deployment, cGMP validation and support for their technical systems within an Enterprise LAN/WAN environment. The candidate will need to have experience with Cisco networks, specifically LAN, WLAN and security technologies. Knowledge of Cisco switches, Wireless LAN Controllers, LWAP’s and Autonomous AP’s as well as the PIX/ASA line of appliances is necessary. Understanding of site to site and client to site VPN is highly desired. Experience with Proxy servers is also a plus. Strong communication skills and customer service orientation are essential. The incumbent must also be a self-motivated team player with the ability to work independently. The candidate should be a quick learner, be able to think on their feet and able to adapt to any situation.Required ExperienceCandidates for this position must have at least five years experience working with Cisco products. A Bachelor degree is required. CCNA is preferred.
