Network Engineer - Contract to Hire

Network EngineerMinimum five years experience in mainstream network operating systems, network hardware/software installations, and troubleshooting. Certifications in mainstream network operating systems, workstation operating systems such as Unix, Windows, etc., and/or hardware related certifications. Strong Cisco experience. Provides expertise and skills needed to effectively support a traditional WAN/LAN computer network. Provides expertise and support needed in the installation, configuration, troubleshooting, and maintenance of the company's network. Responsibility Overview: Responsible for all functions relating to the planning, installation, configuration and operation of our internal network infrastructure Provides expert installation, troubleshooting, and operational skills on LAN and WAN hardware and software. Implement, maintain, and support entire Network Infrastructure – VPN, Cisco routers and switches, firewalls, wireless networks, WAN.    Use Network Management tools to monitor network performance and availability, for entire infrastructure. Troubleshoot and repair network related problems – application problems, Layer 3/Routing issues, Layer 2/STP issues, any connectivity or VPN problems Identify network configuration and/or performance irregularities. Develop procedures to respond to these irregularities in a timely manner Create/Maintain network support documentation. Document and improve existing processes. Implement network security features to maintain industry compliance. Install/Configure/Maintain all DNS/DHCP infrastructure. Experience with SAN Network deployment and management. Provide 24 x 7 production support on a rotating basis. Exceptional team player is a requirement.  Technical Qualifications: Routing - Layer 3 (BGP, EIGRP, OSPF), Switching – Layer 2 (Spanning Tree), NAT, WAN Protocols Strong TCP/IP, IPSEC troubleshooting skills in a 24x7 environment. Strong performance tuning and capacity planning experience High proficiency with Routing Protocols, VPN, firewalls (ASA5500) Familiar with full suite of Cisco products, specifically 3560, 4500, 7600. Familiar with F5 load-balancers. LTM. DHCP/DNS/WINS/FTP/TCP/UDP/HTTP IP subnetting, Telecommunication Knowledgeable on network security best practices and implementation. Experience working with security features on Cisco features. Network management experience, including performance tuning, reporting, management of tools, capacity planning. Network diagram tools, specifically MS Visio Strong verbal and written communication skills. Scripting is a plus. Must be able to perform effectively in a fast paced, multi-tasking environment while maintaining a high level of service. Current CCNP certification is a plus. Company: Modis, Inc.
