Network Field Technician

Apex Systems Inc in Newport Beach is looking for a Network Field Technician for a position in Long Beach, CA

 

Job Description/Requirements:

Network Field Engineer

Location: US-CA-Long Beach 90803

Industry: Computer Hardware, Computer Software, Telecommunications, Networking Technologies

Education: 2 plus years of college preferred

Experience: 3-5 years field experience preferred

Required Travel: Up to 50% local

 

Provide on-site and remote desktop, server, and network support for clients throughout the five Southern California counties. Install and configure hardware and software, as required, (e.g. network cards, SCSI devices, memory, video/printer drivers and hard drives). Possess the ability to troubleshoot and resolve PC hardware/software, email, internet, printing and all networking problems per industry certifications.

 

Requested skill sets: (installation, upgrade and support of the following)

Ø Microsoft server and workstation operating systems and applications

Ø Administration of Active Directory Services, IIS, Exchange, SQL, Terminal Services, Citrix, DNS and DHCP

Ø Network management including MS NT/2000/2003 Server, Mac OSX 10.x Server, VPN, Firewalls, Switches, and Routers

Ø Symantec Corporate / Enterprise edition software, McAfee and other anti-virus software

Ø Familiar with tape backup software, Backup Exec

Ø Familiar with ticketing systems, ConnectWise

Ø Familiar with management and monitoring tools, Kaseya

Ø Ability to learn vertical applications employed by clients and in-house

Ø Strong communication as well as people and relationship building skills

Ø Process driven with attention to detail and documentation

Ø Ability to work independently

Ø Reliable transportation and proof of insurance are required. Verifiable driving record

Ø Flexible schedule

Ø Project Management skills preferred

 

TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS

Ø Any combination of 3-5 years experience as a network technician for an IT firm or in an in-house capacity.

Ø DESIRED Certifications - A+, MCSE or MCP, Cisco, Citrix, HP, IBM, Novell
