Network Infrastructure Technician (Top Secret clearance required)
Position Summary:
Primarily responsible for providing enterprise-level network technician responsibilities and technical assistance to the Network Engineer for a military installation.
Essential Work Elements:
• Installing (including rack mounting), test, troubleshooting, maintenance and repair of Cisco network system components such as routers, switches, media converters, computer data circuits and related components used in network environments
• Uses advanced knowledge to analyze equipment failures and other unusual system occurrences to isolate the source of the problem and determine failure causes
• Install or replace components (Cisco) and wiring
• Connect network components and circuits
• Shall be responsive to the leadership of the corporation
• Exhibits behavior consistent with the vision and values communicated by the corporation. Demonstrates support for corporate goals and objectives, contributing to the accomplishment of the overall mission.
Education/Experience Requirements:
• Associates Degree in a Computer Science or Management Information Systems with 6 years experience or Bachelors Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Management Information Systems with 4 years experience; or equivalent work experience
Skills Requirements:
• Cisco Router (7206, 7606) installation/configuration
• Routing Protocols (BGRP, OSPF)
• Layer 3 switching
• Interfacing/connecting networks to WANs
• COMSEC
• Cryptographic systems
• CAT 5, 5e cabling
• Ability to lift equipment weighing up to 70 pounds to waist height
