JOB TITLE: Network Integration Engineer, Associate

I. PURPOSE/SUMMARY

Performs software integrations and customizations as directed, on company manufactured and third party equipment utilized for infrastructure, environmental, and physical threat management at customer sites.


II. MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

A. Performs customization of APC-MGE infrastructure management platforms, integration of APC-MGE management accessories, configuration of security and environmental products and on-site training on all management products.

B. Complete paperwork associated with all work activities including FSRs, expense reports and site forms.

C. Demonstrate positive customer relationship building and management skills.

D. Satisfactorily complete assigned product training.

E. Achieve operational readiness rating of 50% or better.


III. OTHER FUNCTIONS

A. Customer familiarization and training presentations.

B. Other duties as assigned by the Field Projct Leaders and the Network Integration Services Manager.


IV. JOB SPECIFICATIONS

A. Education: Bachelors Degree or equivalent experience required. Specialization in engineering disciplines such as computer science, information systems or electrical engineering preferred. Military training equivalent to a formal degree is acceptable. Certification in networking, security or operating systems is highly desirable.

B. Experience: One to four years of field service / customer service experience in network support, software support or equivalent military experience required or 6 months experience in APC-MGE as a technical support engineer.

C. Skills/Characteristics necessary to perform essential functions:

Computer literacy with e-mail, word processing, spreadsheet, forms entry and diagnostics program familiarity. Adept at utilizing cable test and diagnostic equipment, digital volt meter and other electronic test devices. Customer relations and interaction skills. Familiarity with one-line diagrams and related engineering schematics. Thorough understanding of the concept of data transport systems, TCP/IP, network monitoring tools, communication protocols and standards. Driving and safe vehicle operations skills. Characteristics include self starter, team player, punctual, personal and professional integrity, trainable, problem solver, organized, professional appearance, flexible, customer oriented, strong desire to help others and safety oriented. Adheres to all applicable electrical and mechanical safety regulations and demonstrates proper precautions for safe system operation.
D. Physical demands necessary to perform essential functions:

Fingering. Grasping. Feeling. Talking. Communications. Hearing. Repetitive motions. Light work. Visual acuity – close work including inspection.
E. Work Environment:

Subject to inside, climate controlled as well as outside open to the elements environmental conditions. Various customer equipment locations from computer rooms to electrical equipment rooms to outside equipment storage locations. Extensive travel from home to various job sites in the assigned region.  Up to 100% of this travel may require an overnight stay in the destination city, and trips may last up to one week in duration. Home office environment for completing paperwork, accomplishing admin requirements and technical documentation familiarization and upkeep.
F. Reporting:

As a member of a field team reports daily activities through a Team Leader to the Integration Services Manager. Daily schedule and work assignment from Network Integration Coordinator and manages assigned jobs with same to update customer database.
