Network Planning Engineer - Several Opportunities All Level

 Network Planning Engineer   Job Code: GCSD02081110  Job Description: Design and oversee implementation of a large telecommunication network. Provide third level support and trouble shooting. Evaluate/document emerging network technologies to establish future directions. Determine tools and procedures to monitor, analyze, and baseline voice and data networks. Design and provision carrier services per program requirements. Analyze service options, equipment configurations and ongoing support requirements to determine lowest cost of ownership. Provide project management and mentoring to junior/associate engineers and customer relationship support.  Qualifications: BSEE, BSCE or BSCS with Communications Focus required; in addition to CCIE preferred. A minimum of 15 years design experience   Experience: Experience designing WAN/LAN, TDM and Voice switching systems. Domain knowledge of data protocols including TCP/IP, Frame Relay, ATM and specific routing protocols such as OSPF, BGP and IS-IS and VoIP related protocols such as Diffserv, RTP, SIP and RSVP. Experience authoring technology “white papers”, managing concurrent projects and performing trade studies. Experience working with VoIP, VoFR, UC and VPN technologies such as MPLS, IPSec and SSL. Experience ordering carrier (IXC/LEC) services. Thorough understanding of signaling protocols, TDM framing/timing and SONET infrastructure. Knowledge of emerging transmission standards such as CWDM, OC-192, 10 Gig Ethernet and associated hardware. Ability to work in team environment.
