Network Support Specialist
NPA Coatings, a powder and liquid based coatings company, is seeking a Network Support Specialist to join the Information Technology Department supporting the Cleveland production operations.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBLITIES:
Install and maintain local area network (LAN) hardware and software including servers, personal computers (PCs), peripherals and other network nodes.
Active Directory/Exchange 2003/Windows clustering/DNS/WINS/DHCP administration and support
Administer day to day network operations which includes but is not limited to, creating and maintaining network user IDs, logon procedures, monitoring disk resources, file systems, and security policies.
Provide advanced level support to PC and LAN users - Desktop support
Perform system backups and file restorations.
Monitor and maintain network stability.
Evaluate network hardware/software requirements and capabilities and make recommendations for enhancements.
Regularly evaluate processes and make recommendations to improve efficiency.
Act in accordance with departmental privacy and security policies and procedures.
Comply with all corporate and departmental policies/procedures and applicable governmental regulations.
Generate and distribute reports pertaining to assigned responsibilities.
Other duties and responsibilities as assigned, which may include cross-utilization within the department or with other departments.
EDUCATIONAL/SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
High School diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university; or equivalent work experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server/Workstation operating systems, Microsoft Office, various Windows applications and PC hardware required.
MSCE certification preferred.
Must be able to effectively and professionally communicate to management, staff and customers and demonstrate sound judgment/reasoning skills.
Ability to prioritize and successfully handle multiple projects/deadlines simultaneously.
Must have the ability to work independently and possess strong analytical and organizational skills.
