Summary
Performs the installation, modification, testing and servicing on all internal/in-house data communications network equipment. Maintains iventory of all computer equipment, hardware, software and supplies. Troubleshoots, maintains and monitors, network communications. Recommends improvements and the development of technical standards.

Essential Job Duties & ResponsibilitiesPerforms systems administration functions for the multiple servers, establishes and maintains user accounts, installs, upgrades, configures, tests, maintains and supports operating system software in a production/manufacturing environment. Troubleshoots and resolves system hardware, software and communications problems. Performs configuration and adjustments to enhance database file capacity. Performs automated and manual backup and restore processes. Performs network administration for the LAN/WAN including the maintenance of network functionality and the installation, upgrade, configuration, integration and troubleshooting of network software and network devices, fine-tunes hardware and software to optimize network performance, administers the firewall and network security. Establishes and maintains documentation of the network and systems architecture, operating systems software, devices and communications specifications. Supports Engineering Department with computers integrated into equipment built for customers. Researches and recommends solutions to technology needs.
Education, Skills, & ExperienceCertification as Network or Systems Administrator and possess a minimum of 3 years of progressive experience. Competent in network and systems design, Microsoft server implementations and migrations, data integrity/recovery, firewalls and spam filters. Working knowledge with SQL, Exchange, Dell, HP, 3Com, VPN, Cisco, Symantec, Watchguard firewall, MS Office Suite and other products Experience supporting at least 100 users. Experience in a manufacturing environment with MRP experience. Demonstrated ability to provide timely service to the internal customer. Demonstrated ability to follow through on all tasks and/or projects and by the established target or completion date. Good interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work set hours such as 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. or 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
