Headquartered in Southeastern, Pennsylvania, Ferrilli Information Group’s Management Team consists of Robert T. Ferrilli, David Prudencio, and Dan Zuppardo. Services are provided to institution of higher education throughout the country, with a majority of clients located in the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic Regions.
Position Description:
This Network/System Administration position calls for a highly motivated and independent individual with a minimum of seven (7) years experience and a broad working knowledge of network technology solutions, as well as experience in managing a technical staff in a Higher Education information technology environment.
You possess expert-level knowledge of networking technologies including design, planning, implementation, troubleshooting, routing, switching, VLANs, e-mail systems, a solid working knowledge of UNIX operating systems, active directory services, security (firewalls and intrusion detection), enterprise back-up strategies, cabling and infrastructure and product evaluations. Your knowledge is current in the best practices of network design, security and performance. You can successfully perform as part of a technical tem, are highly self-motivated, and self-directed, and have outstanding problem-solving skills, as well as excellent written and oral communications skills and a strong customer service approach. This position reports directly to the Chief Technology Officer. Tasks include, but are not limited to:
· Network administration (including backup, security management, user account management e-mail systems, including e-mail web server, internet access applications support)
· Technology needs analysis
· Long Term Strategy planning to ensure network capacity meets future network requirements including remote hardware and communications facilities
· Evaluation and recommendations for purchases or upgrades to current data network
· Assisting staff professionals in resolving very complex problems requiring highly skilled, in-depth evaluations and network solutions.
· Managing technical projects with both internal and external hardware, software, and human resources
· Managing all service providers to assure a robust, integrated, high availability, highly secure monitored network system
· Ultimately responsible for LAN/WAN design, performance and security.
· Mentor Staff in best practices and people skills.
Education and Experience Requirements: A Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology required; Advanced degree preferred or equivalent Higher Education Business and Information Technology Experience. 7 plus years experience in Higher Education with extensive working knowledge of network technology solutions.
