Position Title: Network and Systems Administrator

Summary: To manage and administrate the various network and server systems that are critical to our operation. These tasks include daily monitoring, changes, deployment, support and troubleshooting of our network and server environment. Our organization is geographically diverse, with AS400 and Windows server environments.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES Network administration includes daily administration and troubleshooting of local LAN, WAN, and VPN connectivity. Installation, configuration, upgrade, and deployment of new facilities and equipment, performance monitoring, tuning, and troubleshooting of communications circuits, as well as VPN, firewall, and router configuration. Perform project work to deploy or maintain new/existing servers or services in an AS400 and Windows based infrastructure. Perform project work. Provide monitoring and reporting for various network and server services that are provided. Alert generation and monitor tuning performed on an on-going basis. Develops and maintains server, site, and connectivity documentation for our organizations servers and network devices. Provide training and support to departmental and cross-functional teams on methods/tools to access server and network resources efficiently and securely.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
1. Education
§ Required: Microsoft Certification plus BA/BS degree in computer science or related discipline; or the combination of education and experience that enables performance of all aspects of the position.

3. Other required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Requires special technical knowledge of the techniques and procedures of administration and support for multi-site, geographically diverse, rapid growth and multi-platform enterprise environment. Ability to perform setup configuration and daily administration of routed network in multiple locations using multi-vendor open standards based tools and protocols. AS400 Server administration (ISeries) is preferred. Familiarity with Apache, NFS, Bind DNS, DHCP. Window server administration skills required. Familiarity with Active Directory, SharePoint, Norton AntiVirus, Terminal Server, and similar tools a plus. IPSEC VPN, firewall, and router support, Cisco PIX, CISCO IOS, ip tables, and security experience are a plus. (Our company is heavily invested in Cisco products; integrated security routers, SmartNet, multiflex trunk Voice/WAN Interface) Requires the ability to independently perform all of the duties of the position efficiently and effectively. Excellent written, verbal and people skills are required. Must be able to install, configure, troubleshoot and maintain all of the network equipment and software applications used. Must be able to work within a dynamic environment both independently and as part of a team.
