Job Category:Business Analyst Leader Primary Location:USA-VA: VIRGINIA-FALLS CHURCHSchedule:Full-time Job Type:Regular Employee Status:Regular Yes, 25 % of the Time Job Posting: 03/25/2008Description: DescriptionThe primary responsibilities of the solution architect are to provide coordination and verification among the framework leads and other proposal team members that the solution being provided byCSC New BusinessServices (NBS) an integrated, cohesive, and cost effective solution meeting the requirements of CSC client. This coordination and verification responsibility extends not only toNBS personnel, but also to Global OutsourcingServices (GOS), and if necessary, client personnel through theOutsourcing proposal manager, to establish the solution traceability to the client's requirements whether from RFP or RFI. The execution of these primary responsibilities extends from the initial solution construction with the framework leads and other proposal team members through proposition word development and cost model review, to make sure the solution is a cost effective, compliant response to requirements for review withmanagement. An important aspect of this responsibility is to promote New Businessprocess compliance and responsible statusing of proposal progress and problem resolution to NBS managers, and if requestedmanagement.Beyond the primary responsibilities above, there are several additional responsibilities that are a direct result of the primary responsibilities of the solution architect. These additional responsibilities are: to provide cross functional framework lead capability on proposals; to represent NBS to new business clients both organizationally and technologically; to assist NBS managers in the effective utilization of NBS resources on RFPs or RFIs; to provide GOS personnel technical information on GIS services and processes; to represent NBS to other elements of CSC as requested; to provide immediate proposal problem resolution capability as requested by NBS; and to provide assistance as a red team member upon request.Technical skills A basic accounting background, including depreciation methods and lease versus purchase analysis. Exposure to new technology. Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word and Microsoft PowerPoint. Knowledge of network hardware/software and services support with a minimum of 5 years of experience and knowledge of: Data and Voice Network hardware Network operations, support andservice delivery Network management support Telecom carrier services - Transport media - knowledge of WAN carrier providers, Local Access Providers, and Internet services Security services- hardware and software Business skills Strong technical and business writing capabilities; Strong communication skills including the ability to provide formal and informal presentations; The capability to addressspecific proposal and delivery tasks; The ability to develop accurate and complete costestimates; The capability to manage constantly changing priorities and multiple tasks; The ability to meet deadlines, deliverables and schedules; Must be able to manage time and be a self-motivator. Assists in the distribution of leads to business developers to ensure potential opportunities are researched in a timely manner.QualificationsAbility to conceptualize and translate competitive strategies into operational and financial models and coordinate activities of technical solution development. Ability to coordinate and facilitate internal coalitions of support among proposal organizations. Good interactive skills allowing effective participation in senior management reviews of key proposal components. Demonstrated skills in coaching of technical staff and commitment to highest quality of finished work product.Comprehensive knowledge of information technologies: familiarity and conceptual understanding of mainframe, midrange, client/server, desktop, data communications, telephony and help desk operations. Demonstrated understanding of current trends and emerging technologies. Working knowledge of the competitive aspects of the outsourcing industry. Confident self-starter with team leadership presence. High tolerance for ambiguity. Refined problem analysis and solution development skills. Ability to discern key technical elements within a set of customer requirements. Exceptional communication skills within all levels of the organization. Ability to communicate vision, strategy and key objectives. An advanced degree is preferred.
