OPERATIONS TECHNICAL TEAM LEAD

AMDEX Corporation is currently seeking a Technical Lead for a exciting, long-term contract involving the protection of our borders. This position requires both U.S. Citizenship and the ability to obtain a clearance. The position is located in Springfield, VA and requires flexibility to work 2nd and 3rd shifts. We have other positions available that do not require technical lead experience if you have a mainframe/operations background.

 

Job Description:Provide shift leadership for a 2nd and 3rd level support team that provides 24x7 support for the customer’s mainframe and multi-platform environmentSupervise a staff of 6-7 support personnel during off shift hours (3pm – 11:30pm, 11pm – 7:30am) Monitor system and application monitors (Tivoli, System Consoles, Managed Objects, TMON, etc.) and investigate error messages utilizing system tools, such as SiteScope, system logs, libraries, and reference toolsIncumbent will be responsible for ensuring systems and application problems related to z/OS, MVS, UNIX, LINUX, CICS, DATACOM, and MQ are resolved quickly within the support team or are escalated to the appropriate personnel with a goal of zero downtime Document processes, procedures, status reports, and prepare incident documentation for management

 

Skill Requirements: z/OS system programming background or strong understanding of z/OS system architectureSome experience with DATACOM/DB2 - level 2 problem determination/troubleshooting desiredSome experience with MQ and CICS - level 2 problem determination/troubleshooting desiredSome networking concepts, TCPIP, and NetviewSolid documentation skills Solid leadership skills including the ability to supervise, delegate, take the lead with problem resolution, and work with management to achieve objectivesCustomer service oriented and excellent communication skillsFunctional skill level with Microsoft Office products (Excel, MS-Word, PowerPoint)
