Description:Under the general supervision of the Shift Lead, Data Center and according to established Information Systems policies and Data Center procedures and operating instructions: operates Partners computers, and peripheral computer equipment (i.e., printers, magnetic media drives, disk drives, telecommunications equipment units, and networking equipment etc.). Monitors all systems in accordance to said procedures and where indicated takes corrective action or forwards organized analysis of problem to the appropriate designated person. Principal Duties and Responsibilities 1. Work with Operator II, Operator III and Shift Leads or at any affiliated Data Center Shift to develop, improve and standardize Data Center procedures. 2. Expected to execute any job submitted by the scheduler or authorized requests procedures, productions jobs, using the operations department procedural run documentation. Required to perform any operational task on any Partners computer platform housed in a Partners Data Center.3. Monitor the various computer systems, which may include the use of software monitoring tools. Performs analysis and initiate corrective action for operating problems. Document, track and contact the appropriate on-call designee in accordance with set procedures.4. Monitor the inventory of data processing stock and supplies necessary to support processing activities; includes mountable media, paper, labels, printer consumables and any Data Center supplies.5. May interact with departmental staff, customers, and vendors concerning equipment/system problems or limitations; provides trouble-shooting on remote peripheral devices. Monitors, tracks and makes service calls when required.6. Promote excellent customer service comply with all governmental, HIPAA, Partners and policies and safety practices.7. Insure accurate tracking of Data Center metrics; includes printer counts, paper usage, media usage, operational requests, media mounts and any other requested by the Shift Lead, Data Center.8. Insure Data Center physical security by monitoring, logging and escorting all personnel having business in the Data Center.9. Participates with other departmental staff as a member of the disaster recovery team. 10. Work with other Information Services teams to ensure that all Data Center documentation is current, readily accessible and in serviceable condition. 11. Ensures the cleanliness and organization of Data Center work areas.12. Performs other duties and special projects as assigned.Qualifications:Please Note - This is a third shift position with the following hours:Wednesday 11:30pm - 8:00amThursday 9:30pm - 8:00amFriday 9:30pm - 8:00amSaturday 7:30pm - 8:00amAssociates degree in relevant field or 1 year of equivalent experience.Must possess strong and demonstrated writing, communication, and analytical skills.Must have the ability to adapt to the concepts of monitoring and controlling diverse systems in a multiple computer environment.Possess the ability to learn multiple and complex platforms, both computer and network computer environments.Skills/Abilities/Competencies Required MS/Outlook MS/WORD MS/EXCEL Must be able to lift supplies and/or equipment up to 50 pounds.Working Conditions An open computer hardware environment located in any of Partners HealthCare Systems Data Centers. Must be able to work at any Partners Data Center.
