ORACLE DBA --- 8, 9 and 10g Experience!!!

The Oracle Database Administrator will be responsible for installing, upgrading, configuring, and maintaining the regional production Oracle database applications environment as well supporting the various Oracle installations within MTM's Managed Services customer sites. This individual provides consultation on performance, patch management, configuration management, custom interface design and implementation, application support, and assistance with system administration functionality as it pertains to the Oracle database environment for both MTM and its customers. This individual will be responsible for monitoring growth, fragmentation, performance, and security concerns of the production database environments, ensuring database backup and recovery and disaster recovery preparedness. This role requires an individual with confidence and the capability to enable and inspire the DBA team to produce optimum services for its global customer base. This individual will support multiple applications in development and production, perform Oracle server installation and client installation, maintain logical and physical data models, create database and application objects, configure OEM, document production support processes, assist lead DBA in developing and documenting change management strategy and standards. Excellent communication and listening skills are critical to the success of the candidate.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Installation, customization, administration, and patching of Oracle applications.

- Design, implementation and configuration of remote Oracle monitoring solutions for MTM and its customers.

- Capacity planning, performance tuning of customer databases and applications.

- Provide production technical support for database technologies on a split 7x24x365 basis.

- Installing, configuring, and maintaining database software, patches, upgrades, and utilities.

REQUIREMENTS:

- Requires a Bachelor's degree in a related technical field as well as 7+ years experience in a complex UNIX environment on Sun Solaris OS with UNIX (ksh) scripting.

- 7+ years experience with Oracle 7.x through 10.x databases and 11.x applications.

- Server Utilities such as SQL*Loader and exp/imp.

-Experience managing disk storage allocation and usage.

-Exposure to third-party Monitoring and Change Management tools, such as Big Brother.

- Solid configuration experience with OEM for Performance Manager, Data Guard and RAC.

- 2+ years experience as Senior Applications DBA.

- Proven ability to lead integration, conversion, and implementation projects.

- Proven ability to work within defined standards and to develop and communicate those standards.

- Ability to work and communicate well with a diverse audience.

- Proven experience with Oracle RMAN with Veritas NetBackup and RMAN with Legato Networker.

-Solid UNIX shell programming skills and knowledge with Sun Solaris and various Linux platforms.

-Solid UNIX skills including commands, shells & shell programming, etc.

-UNIX utility programs and common editors such as vi.

-UNIX process identification and management.

-Experience with large-scale disk storage facilities and SAN infrastructures a plus.
