Operations Specialist / C-1630

Position Description:The primary function of the Information Systems group is to meet the needs of our internal Information Systems customers so that they, in turn, can meet the needs of our external Triad Financial Corporation customers. The 3rd Shift Computer Operator’s responsibility is to monitor and validate that all nightly production systems and applications that execute scheduled batch processing jobs are completed successfully and on time. The operator is responsible for ensuring the integrity of the production data utilized by Triad employees by administering steps required to resolve or escalate issues that may prevent successful completion of scheduled production processes. Job Specifications• Excellent organizational skills including reporting, organization, communication and task prioritization.• Excellent ability to pay attention to details and follow documented scripts and checklists to validate expected results• Aility to work well with minimal supervision.• Ality to prioritize and complete multiple tasks concurrently• Solid verbal and written communication skills.• Experience with personal computer hardware.• Basic knowledge of Windows NT to review logs and troubleshoot error messages• Basic knowledege of PC hardware • Basic knowledge of TCP/IP to enable monitoring of network connectivity • Experience with Microsoft Office 97 or greater and Internet Explorer 4.0 or greater.• Familirity with Microsoft NT Server 4.0• Familiarity with Ethernet, preferably switched Ethernet.• Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills. • Prior experience working as a night computer operator is strongly preferredTasks and Responsibilities? Monitor scheduled production batch jobs and processes to validate expected results and confirm successful completion ? Execute and complete a daily Operators checklist to log completion of all jobs and processes and note discrepancies as required ? Follow documented scripts and checklists to resolve and/or escalate problems that may impact the successful completion of scheduled processing ? Immediately escalate problems that result in production outage to 2nd level and notify IT management ? Perform back-ups and tape management functions as required to ensure nightly back-ups are completed, tapes are sent offsite and Tape management logs are up to date? Inform management of all potential problems and identify problem trends? Recommend enhancements and modifications to systems and procedures to improve the services provided by Information Systems Department.? Monitor the generation and distribtuion of scheduled reports on a daily, weekly and monthly basis. Manualy regenerate and distribute failed reports as needed?
