Oracle Database Administrator - DBA

We are seeking a Database Administrator (DBA) - Oracle.  The candidate will be responsible for analysis, design, programming, testing, and implementation of Oracle databases.  The candidate will have a thorough understanding of available technology, ETL, tools, and existing designs.  The individual will be responsible for research, analysis, design, building, and production support of Oracle databases. 

QUALIFICATIONS:Five or more years experience as a Database Administrator; Oracle preferredWorking knowledge of data management tools; data modeling, data profiling, data quality, and ETL.Ability to create schemas and sub-schemas in consultation with data architecture and application development project team.Sets up and performs backup and recovery procedures. Works with Data Architect to identify and transform logical data models into physical database implementations.Performs monitoring and tuning for storage management as well as capacity planning.Develops transaction logging and security features.Analyzes database requirements of the user department, applications programming and operations.Submits recommendations for solutions that require definition of the physical structure and functional capabilities of databases.Proposes detailed specifications and flowcharts, and coordinates installations.Provides database problem support to developers, business analysts, and business users.Conducts research and prepares documentation for database tools, software, or hardware.Understands and applies normalization methods and design methodologies.Provides on-call support, including after hours support.Self-starter who has ability to research problems, identify and document solutions, and understands the big picture.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Full life cycle development experience.Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.FOLLOWING ARE A PLUS:

Technical certification (Oracle, IBM, Microsoft) a plus.Insurance industry experiencePOSITION:
This is a contract for hire, or permanent FTE position.  Compensation $75K - $100K depending upon experience.
