Oracle Database Adminstrator
Analyzes, develops, tests and implements database designs in support of corporate and client area technology requirements. Performs data modeling, logical and physical database design. Includes maintenance of database dictionaries, monitoring of standards and procedures, access methods and time, validation checks, organization and statistical methods. Responsible for data loading, security, performance monitoring and tuning, capacity planning, and backup and recovery. Executes database software installation, database creations/configurations and loads.Additional Skills: Minimum 3-5 years experience as a Database Administrator for Oracle servers and various Oracle products. Prefer experience with Oracle 10g. Experience with RAC desired. Solid skills in database performance factors, monitoring tools and tuning procedures, especially for very large databases (1 Tb+). Knowledge of Oracle High Availability solutions, backup and recovery solutions, disaster recovery solutions. Knowledge of RMAN and DataGuard preferred. Strong skills in maintenance tools and procedures, especially in support of very large databases (over 1Tb) Solid skills in productivity factors and ability to understand impact of problem on overall database performance, including PL/SQL troubleshooting experience. Working knowledge of UNIX shell scripting. The Oracle DBA candidate will help develop and validate the database implementation plan, create database objects and maintain their physical organization/relationships, support the data loads into the databases, and ensure that the application, and any enhancements, interact efficiently with the database. The Oracle DBA candidate will follow all TiS Data Services standards and policies for database performance monitoring, backup and recovery.
