PROGRAMMER ANALYST

SUMMARY:  Provides Business Applications support and training, analyze IT department's and Business departments needs for CRM and other FOX systems business applications functionality, assist and provide .Net programming where needed or as directed by CTO. Assists in designing new or modifies existing systems and writes computer programs, or performs configuration to implement the system changes.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: include the following. Other duties may be assigned:

Provide support and training to NPI operations staff on CRM application and EFI transactions, as well as other FOX IT responsibilities as assigned by CTO.  This position will also provide technical support to implement any new lines of businesses into the CRM system.

 

Work with NPI and Noridian technical staff to troubleshoot any business or technical issues related to CRM or EFI and work with FOX IT staff to resolve any issues

 

Act as CRM application systems Administrator and facilitates quick and efficient problem resolution.  Provide SQL database support and .Net application development support as required on CRM and other Fox applications.

 

Provide cross-functional support to other FOX business application systems such as FOX Portal, Reporting system as directed by CTO

 

Reviews and analyzes systems specifications to determine whether all required elements have been included. Consults with clients to gather information about program needs, objectives, functions, features, and input and output requirements.

Analyzes, defines and documents requirements for data, workflow, logical processes, hardware and operating system environment, interfaces with other systems, internal and external checks and controls, and outputs.

Uses programming languages (.Net, Visual Studio and Java (not required but preferred) to code computer instructions from the systems documentation. Utilizes any special programming techniques necessary to achieve the most effective program.

 

Analyze specific organizational and procedural problems and design or modify computer programs to implement computer applications; test and debug new programs to verify their accuracy and completeness; maintain and revise existing programs to ensure operating proficiency or to adapt programs to new requirements.

Assist in developing specifications for applications or systems to include system narratives, data elements, data gathering and verification techniques and methods, accounting and auditing controls, block diagrams, flow charts, decision tables, input-output requirements, and records form layout and processing specifications.

Prepare and maintain form and procedure manuals to effect implementation and continuing operation of computer application systems.

Maintain liaison with representatives of other departments, clients and equipment manufactures to ensure utilization of current technical principles and techniques.

Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.

Modifies existing programs to conform to system changes or to make improvements in the existing program.

Work with Microsoft products including SharePoint, WSS, SQL Server, Microsoft Analytical Services and Visual Studio development when required.

Advise and work closely with users to resolve computer applications, capabilities, alternative programming approaches, limitations, etc. Works with user departments to resolve specific problems or make changes in programs.

Trains users in any specific procedures necessary to utilize applications or systems.

Write and maintains documentation to describe program development, logic, coding, testing, change management, security and corrections.

Assist and acts in a confidential capacity to Department Heads in matters involving programming and systems.

Monitors and maintains performance SQL databases and of programs after implementation.

Cross-trains as back-up for Sharepoint Portal, MS Project Server, SQL Server, Web servers, and NT/LAN operations and maintenance. Cross-trains for providing support to users on Portal and personal computers operations and maintenance.

Uses a personal computer to input and retrieve data.

Maintains relationships and effective communication with other departments.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: This job has no direct supervisory responsibilities.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Associate's Degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college is desirable and a 4 year degree is preferred. One year of related experience including programming; or equivalent combination of education and experience is preferred.
