PROJECT SPECIALIST

Description:General Summary Overview Under the direction of Corporate Team Leader I, the primary responsibilities of the Project Specialist will focus on both managing and conducting the analysis, design, and integration of new products and services with existing entity, corporate and departmental systems. The Project Specialist will also manage the resources associated with these projects. The Project Specialist is also charged with ensuring appropriate support for implemented products and services.Principal Duties and ResponsibilitiesWork closely with Rehabilitation Hospital of the Cape and Islands (RHCI) management and/or end-users to define business needs, develop project approach, scope and workplan to meet both system and operational objectives.Develop IT strategies and solutions that comply with Partners IS standards and strategic directions.Estimate capital and operating funding requirements associated with a project. Manage project within allocated budget.Plan, manage and over-see project, utilizing recognized project management methodology. Perform or delegate activities including (but not limited to):' Definition of project scope and objectives' Management and status reporting tools' Feasibility and cost benefit studies' Requirements definition (functional and/or technical)' System testing/quality assurance' Training' Implementation' Post-implementation/on-going support' Project administrative activities' DocumentationComplete work assignments in accordance with an established project timeline. Manage IS projects within the context of the larger environment including competing priorities, staffing levels, budgetary concerns. Provide appropriate and timely problem escalation reporting (and potential solutions if applicable) to both IS management and project steering committee.Provide on-going project status reports both to internal IS management, user groups, and project steering committee. Perform, assign or delegate project assignments as appropriate. Provide project-specific direction and guidance to project team members to facilitate timely and quality results. Monitor quality of work performed by team members throughout the project lifecycle.Provide quality customer service and serve as an exemplary representative of Partners Information Systems.
