Projects will include collaboration portals for resource and content management and a host of business-driven application sites. The successful candidate will drive site architecture, mentor and develop team members, manage the development environment and lead projects with innovation. Along with technical leadership, you will team with project management, the client and strategic partners to plan and implement new web applications, functionality and/or lines of business. The ideal candidate offers that rare combination of technical leadership and professional stewardship. Responsibilities: Define, coordinate and perform portal development and configurations tasks. This position will require interaction with the business, IT and operations teams to gather portal technical requirements. To satisfy these needs will require task coordination across the project and a hands-on development and programming effort. You also will be responsible for the implementation, debugging, testing and enhancing web portal functionality, performance, security and utilization. -Lead a team of technology professionals; refine site architecture and implement portal platforms, including Intranet-to-portal development 1. Content management solutions 2. Collaboration, Publishing, Analytics, and Governence 3. Line-of-Business applications 4. Web-based community solutions 5. Reporting applications -Work with our Project Management Office (PMO) and other areas of IT to review and elaborate project requirements, estimate development effort, allocate resources, manage project milestones, report progress, and implement change -Lead by example as a hands-on technical manager; facilitate design/architecture discussions, propose solutions, develop prototypes, conduct code reviews and support software test efforts -Drive teams to on-time delivery of projects within a dynamic production environment; factor in web application performance/stability, time, cost and value and make implementation decisions Define, and ensure adherence to, software development best practices including tools, processes and standards -Recruit, coach and mentor technical resources and retain talent with recognition, career development and professional growth -Support business operations by managing the problem triage and resolution processExperience Level: 5+ Years in Portal Development Requirements: Requirements -BS/BA and 8+ years of software development experience including 2+ years in as a Development Manager, Software Architect, or Technical Project Leader -Strong organizational leadership skills and a participative management style related to coaching, motivating, engaging, and mentoring a team -Proven ability to design high performance, scalable applications in a multi-platform, high transaction environment -A track record of delivering projects on-time within a fast-paced business environment -Prior experience with designing and deploying sophisticated portlets using major portal vendor?s (BEA preferred) middleware products. -Thorough knowledge of the following web technologies: .NET Framework or Java, XML, Web Services. -Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to effectively pitch technical concepts to developers and non-technical business users alike -Solid background and practical experience in OO methodologies and design patterns Preferred: -Experience with EAI, SOA and MS SQL Server / Oracle - -High transaction, customer-facing e-commerce experience. Must be open to frequent traval and possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.
