This position is responsible for developing the systems design and architecture for the iSeries infrastructure used within the Prime Therapeutics. This position will gather and understand infrastructure requirements to meet disaster recovery, availability and application needs. This position will be responsible for building and maintaining the systems roadmap, standards, and overall strategic direction in collaboration with other infrastructure architects, system engineers, and application architects and engineers. This position is accountable for ensuring alignment with operational support and the architecture and design seamlessly integrates into daily operations through solicitation of feedback and ongoing collaboration with the systems engineers. This position will also be responsible for assisting with incident and problem resolution for complex issues that cannot be solved by systems engineers, including working with third party vendors/providers and Prime engineers.Accountabilities: 1. Consult with business users and IT areas to obtain specifications and agree on timeframe for completion of assigned projects and requests. 2. Gather and document infrastructure requirements that are needed to meet Prime’s stated disaster recovery and availability goals.3. Develop milestones, project plans and maintain regular written communication on project status with Project Managers; defining expectations on timelines and progress of projects to IT management and stakeholders.4. Interfacing with key vendors and others for the implementation and support of infrastructure products and services.5. Assist with installation and support of technology components as needed by systems engineering staff.6. Collaborate with domain architects to develop solutions to meet infrastructure requirements, document infrastructure architecture roadmaps and standards, for presentation to various forums including IT leadership.7. Lead efforts to drive change in the environment including articulating the business case, cost/benefit analysis, vendor analysis and detailed implementation plans.8. Work closely with application areas to understand their existing needs and future requirements and include those needs in infrastructure plans.Job Requirements: 1. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent.2. At least 2 years in demonstrated architectural role.3. At least 10 years working with IT infrastructure technologies, including AS400/iSeries and DBMS.4. Four or more years of experience in a transactional environment, such a claims or credit card processing.5. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. 6. Ability to transition abstract concepts into relevant technical deployment designs.7. Ability to develop decision criteria and develop unbiased technology comparisons.8. Established presenter of technical and non-technical material to multiple levels of technical and management staff.9. Ability to partner with vendors to provide cost effective solutions and engagements.10. Excellent communicator and collaborator, striving for “Win-Win” scenarios.11. Strong problem solving and business analysis skills.12. Excellent documentation skills and development of strategic roadmaps.13.
