Universities in North Carolina founded RTI in 1958 as the first scientific organization in and centerpiece of the Research Triangle Park.   Job Description The Office of Purchasing at RTI International has an opening for a Procurement Business Systems Analyst to provide development and computing services for collecting, processing, managing, and analyzing data.  This position is accountable for performing assigned tasks associated with assisting the Procurement Operations group to drive competitive advantage by working with other institute business operations to align the procurement strategy with the business strategy by integrating commodity management and supply chain tools.  The Analyst assists with the implementation of strategic and tactical plans to meet the business needs and deliver cost savings, working capital improvement and process optimization.

Responsibilities

• Develop applications utilizing current technologies
• Learn current systems in place
• Write requirements/documentation
• Utilize system and analytic expertise to support sourcing initiatives, metrics and reporting
• Provide systematic data to support decisions regarding renegotiating, renewing and discontinuing agreements
• Analyze industry trends and evolving technology to proactively identify supply base issues to minimize risk, protect continuity of supply, and cost savings data
• Based on analysis of spending, analyze and determine opportunities to leverage and consolidate supply base using system level tools and techniques
• Works closely with CPO and Procurement Operations on development and deployment  of e-tools that benefit the organization
• Work in a team environment with purchasing staff and internal customers
• Excellent verbal, written, and presentation  communication skills

Qualification

• B.S. in Computer Science or other related discipline
• 3 years experience in related IT environment
• Knowledge of purchasing, supply chain, and logistics
• Good problem solving skills
• Ability to work independently and manage own work load
