Product Development Manager - Software Applications

Our best information technology client has asked our retained assistance for the following position:



This position is primarily responsible for leading new software applications product development and enhancement initiatives.The Product Development Manager - Software Applications will work cross-functionally with Marketing, IT, Legal, Operations, Finance, Strategy, outside vendors and member volunteers to shape a product concept, define detailed business requirements, and champion the internal development effort through launch.  The position will report directly to the Senior Product Development Manager (who Taylor White found).



 

 

Responsibilities:

 

 Works cross functionally to refine product concepts and develop plans to address consumer, technical, operational, and marketing challenges. Is accountable for product definition, features, and functionality.

 Develops detailed flows that define the user experience and serve as the basis for technical development.

 Works closely with third party providers to evaluate available data for potential inclusion in our services, and conducts the data analysis and mapping necessary to maximize consumer relevance.

 Works with Director of Corporate Development to ensure timely input and support from functional groups including Operations, Marketing, Communications, IT and Finance to achieve product launch objective.

 Represents company and manages the QA and development resources for each product line

 

 

 

Skills/Competencies Required:Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Technology or Business.

 Minimum of 7 years experience in related field or product development.

 Some technical background with proven experience in product development activities such as researching, developing requirements and documenting business processes ideal.

 Experience in development and launching of new products on a global scale

 Excellent oral and written communications

 Working knowledge of information security technology and practices and a track record in product development.

 Strong project management skills with great emphasis on detail required

 Proactive, self-starter capable of working with minimal supervision.

 Proficiency with MS-Office and MS Project

 Experience in development cycle of educational materials a plus
