Product Manager

BASIC FUNCTION The Product Manager is responsible for the product planning and execution throughout the product lifecycle, including: gathering and prioritizing product and customer requirements, defining the product vision, and working closely with production, sales, marketing and customer service to ensure product roadmap goals are met. The Product Manager works with the entire Product Management and Production teams to ensure we deliver only the highest quality video training products. This role will be work very closely with our authors in a supportive function that leverages their industry knowledge and training expertise. The Product Manager's job also includes ensuring that the product supports the company's overall strategy and goals.  PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES Â·  Assist with the development of a product strategy and roadmap.·  Develop product specification documents that define product vision and supports activities in acquisitions, production, marketing, and sales.·  Develop the core messaging and positioning for the products.·  Define guidelines for each product series (Essential, Beyond the Basic, Projects, etc.)·  Set pricing recommendations for CD-ROM products.·  Assist authors with development of table of content, assets, and overall product vision, as needed.·  Develop and maintain key relationships with Product Managers at key vendors.·  Conduct product competitive analysis.·  Meet with key authors monthly to review royalty statements and title performance.·  Assist Marketing with product launch and post-launch initiatives.·  Assist author during recording process and resolve any issues that arise, as needed.·  Review content during recording and post-production to ensure the product meets the needs of customers as defined in the product requirements.·  Develop and maintain processes/systems to collect, analyze, and distribute product feedback.·  Develop and maintain processes/systems to collect, analyze customer product requests.·  Work with external third parties to assess partnerships and license agreements.·  Assist marketing with the marketing strategy for single products and product groups. EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS Â·  Bachelor’s Degree required - relevant work experience critical.·  3+ Years experience in the software training market - video training experience preferred.·  Demonstrated experience and success defining and launching products.·  Deep and thorough understanding of the software market - emphasis in the creative segment.·  Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams without formal authority·  Exceptional project management and interpersonal skills.·  Superior oral/written communication skills·  Superior organizational skills and attention to detail.·  Ability to juggle multiple projects, deadlines and priorities in a fast-paced environment.·  Ability to travel frequently. This job description is not intended to be all-inclusive.  An employee may also perform other reasonable related business duties as assigned by immediate supervisor or management. TO APPLY Please submit your resume and salary historyReference Job Code 2008PM when applyingHealth, Vision, Dental benefits, 401K with matching, and other benefits are available through our company.
