View all Sungard Availability Services jobs Product Manager-Messaging & Collaboration Services / MKT4773 Position Description:As the Product Manager, Messaging and Collaboration Services, you lead efforts to improve existing Messaging and Collaboration Services for hosting solutions, and be a resource for sales support. You will build products from existing ideas, and help to develop new ideas based on your industry experience and your contact with customers and prospects. You must possess a unique blend of business and technical savvy; a big-picture vision, and the drive to make that vision a reality. You must enjoy spending time in the market to understand their problems, and find innovative solutions for the broader market.You must be able to communicate with all areas of the company. You will work with an engineering counterpart to define product release requirements. You will work with marketing communications to define the go-to-market strategy, helping them understand the product positioning, key benefits, and target customer. You will also serve as the internal and external evangelist for your product offering, occasionally working with the sales channel and key customers.Responsibilities:• Managing the product line life cycle from strategic planning to tactical activities for server and server and application services with experience in messaging & collaboration technologies and automation• Specify market requirements for current and future products by conducting market research supported by on-going visits to customers and non-customers• Driving a solution set across development teams (primarily Development/Engineering, and Marketing Communications) through market requirements, product contract, and positioning• Analyzing potential partner relationships for the product gaps• Lead efforts to improve revenue and profits or reduce costs associated with existing ser and application services• Participate in various Sales Support activities, including: product and services training, seminars and documentation, and pre and post sales customer visits• Maintain and provide content for product related collateral and sales tools• Track and maintain performance metrics for new product and service launches• Develop and maintain channel, delivery, and technology partner relationships• Approximately 25%-35% Travel RequiredQualifications:• College Degree preferred but will consider applicants with equivalent work-related experience with a minimum educational requirement of a H.S. Diploma or GED equivalent• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience required• 5 to 10 years experience in product development and lifecycle maintenance, sales support, or technical services role• Track record in hosting, data center outsourcing, messaging platforms such as Microsoft Exchange, Lotus Notes or similar technologies (MCTS, MCITP)• Understanding of product differentiation and competitive strategy techniques• Possess the ability to work with customers and vendors at both a business & technical level• Extensive knowledge of solution engineering and design techniques as well as enterprise hosting products, virtualization technologies, and services is required• Excellent aptitude for financial information and analysis• Strong Leadership skills and the ability to effectively supervise others workload• Experience in web services and application infrastructure design (n-tier, MCSE, MCSD)• Experience in system (Microsoft and/or UNIX), tape backup, and storage administration• Knowledge of WAN/LAN architectures, systems & protocols.• High-level technical knowledge and experience with enterprise monitoring and management products and architecture• Strong speaking and presentation skills• Strong technical knowledge and experience with systems and application security practices• Verbal & written communications skills that meet the SunGard Corporate standard including customer service• Strong project management, time management, and organizational skills• Ability to effectively work in a team environment as well as independentlySUNGARD IS AN EQUAL OPPORTUNITY EMPLOYER, M/F/D/V
